Clarifications, please!

Could you please reply to these queries:

  • At what speed should I write the following on to a CD: MP3, video songs, movies, games, software and other data? And what software should I use?

  • I have a 700-MB CD, of which I have stored data of only 150 MB. How can I add more data on to the CD?
  • Kindly send me Short Cut keys of the following: MS-Office, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Binder.

  • I want to recover data from a scratch CD. How should I go about it?

There are many CD burning software such as NERO, InCD, ROXIO etc. You can get any one of these. Usually MP3 and video songs are burned at 8X or 12X. The remaining games, software and data CDs, can be written at any speed supported by the CD and drive.

You can write more data to the CD in which you have already written, provided it is not finalised (closed for further burning). If you are using NERO, after opening the application and inserting the old CD, please select "compile a CD" option and click next.

Now select "data" option to click next. Here you have to select "Continue with an existing data CD (multi-session)"option and click next. Then finish the wizard. Now you can drag and drop the files you want to burn and finally burn the CD.

There are lot of shortcut keys to be used with MS Office applications. Here is a link that explains some of them.

For recovering data from a scratch CD, software tools can be used. You can download these software based on your requirement and try recovering data.
