Shutdown hitch

My PC has a dual booting system with Windows 98 and XP. Whenever I shutdown the system from Windows 98, it gets re-started instead of a normal shutdown. But it works fine in XP. Why does this happen? Please suggest a solution.

This is a problem faced with Microsoft Windows 98. You will need to download and install a supplement from the Microsoft Web site. The URL is: http://www.microsoft.com/windows98/
