Computer Usage Columns - Tip Off Shutdown hitch
I am using a PIV system with Intel 865GBF, 512 MB DDR RAM(400HZ) and 20 GB HDD. I have installed WinXP Prof, Wwin XP (NTFS) Pro, and Win 98, on three different partitions. I am now facing a problem in Win 98 SE. When I shut down and restart Win 98, the `Windows is shutting down' screen appears. But after that nothing happens. I have to manually shut down or restart the system. The system doesn't hang but nothing works. Please suggest a solution.
Vinod A shutdown supplement patch is available at the Microsoft site, which addresses restart and hanging issues on shutdown. You can download it from the following URL: http://www.microsoft.com/windows98 /downloads/contents/wurecommended /s_wufeatured/win98SE/ It addresses shutdown issues on systems with specific hardware/software configurations running Win98 SE. Please download and run the supplement. For additional information, please look up the following URL: http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/ bline/ew/2003/11/19/stories/ 2003111900320400.htm
