Computer Usage Columns - Tip Off Slow loading of desktop
I am using Window XP as the OS in my computer. When I try to load my desktop it takes a lot of time. It displays this message: "Windows cannot find `smsse.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again" after loading. Please suggest a solution. M.B. Muthukumaresan The first thing to do is to check whether the smsse.exe file loads in the system startup. To check this, please click start - Run - type "msconfig" and click ok. This will bring up the system configuration utility. Click Startup tab and look for smsse.exe. If it is there, please uncheck it and restart your system. If smsse.exe is not listed in startup tab, then it could be a malware or Invalid registry key. Just install and run Anti-spyware tool Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition 1.05(size 2.5MB). This can be freely downloaded from the following URL: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/adaware.html. Before starting the scan, please check for updates of Ad-Aware definition files. Next perform a complete virus scan of your system and make sure your virus definition files are up-to-date.
