Computer Usage Columns - Tip Off Installing Windows 98
I use 865 gvhz, with 3.0 GHz processor with 80 GB sata hdd. I tried to install Windows 98 second edition. During the installation process, I get an error message; when I `ignore' it, the installation is `finished'. But I am not able to find the CD-ROM and CD-Writer icons in my computer. However, there is no problem with Win XP. Akhilesh You need to install the motherboard chipset drivers, since you are not able to access the CD Drive in Windows 98. Start Win XP and copy all the CD contents of the motherboard drive CD to a folder in the drive in which you have installed Windows 98. Please restart the system with Windows 98 and install the motherboard drivers from the folder where you copied the CD contents. This should solve your problem.
