Hitch while using IE

I use a PC with Windows 98 OS and Internet Explorer 6.When I click on a link that opens in a new window, the new window pops up but the page does not appear. Why is this so? Please suggest a solution.

Recently, while using Win XP, I noticed that Internet Explorer accesses only one window. I tried ctrl+n but it shows only one window. I use a PC with Windows XP version 2002, with Intel p4, 2.43 ghz, 248 RAM being the configuration details. Please suggest a solution.

The problem I face is that the hyper link connection in the incoming e-mail does not open now, though it used to, earlier. My mail client is MS Outlook (Windows XP). Please suggest a solution.

Since all these queries deal with similar problems, the solution is as follows:

Open Internet Explorer - Click Tools - Internet Options - Programs - Click Reset Web

Settings button. This will open Reset Web Settings dialog. Click yes. Make sure that this option: "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser" is enabled. Next click on the "Advanced" tab and click "Restore Defaults" button, then click ok. If you access the Internet through proxy server, please make sure the HTTP 1.1 support is enabled. To check this, open IE and click Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - under "HTTP 1.1 settings" please enable (check) the option "use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections". Check whether this solves your problem.

If this does not, you need to re-register some of the files. Click

Start - Run - In the open box, type "regsvr32 urlmon.dll" and click ok. This will display this message: "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" Click ok and check now.

If this does not solve the problem, repeat the above process (start - Run) for the

following files also:

regsvr32 shdocvw.dll

regsvr32 msjava.dll

regsvr32 actxprxy.dll

regsvr32 oleaut32.dll

regsvr32 mshtml.dll

regsvr32 browseui.dll

regsvr32 shell32.dll (Windows 2000 and Windows XP only)

If you still face problems, just login as administrator (Windows 2000/XP users)

or as user in Administrator group and check whether this solves your problem. It is advisable to

install the latest version of Internet Explorer (IE 6 Service Pack 1 is as much as necessary).
