Computer Usage Columns - Tip Off Disabling autologon
I use Windows XP. During log on, instead of the display on the welcome screen, my system opens directly into the user account. This happens even if the user account has a password. Which means others can enter my account without needing to type in a password. I have tried all the solutions in `User account' in the control panel but to no avail. Please suggest a solution. Sankar You can either enable or disable this autologon feature in Windows XP. Before doing either, please make a note of the Windows XP service pack (sp) version that you have installed. You can get this information by clicking Start - Run - and typing `winver.' Next, click Start - Run - type "control userpasswords2"(without quotes) and click ok. This will bring up the Windows 2000 style User Accounts. If you have installed Windows XP service pack 2, on the user's tab, enable (tick) the checkbox "users must enter a username and password to use this computer" and click ok and restart your system. For other SPs, please click Advanced tab, under secure logon enable the option "Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete" and click ok and restart.
