Error reporting

In the edition dated August 1, 2005, eWorld carries a query from a reader on reporting errors to Microsoft.

Here are suggestions from another reader on the issue:

Microsoft Windows's error reporting can be disabled by going to My Computer-{gt}(right click) Properties-{gt}Advanced-{gt} Error reporting and clicking on Disable error reporting. The error reporting can be quite annoying at times as most of the errors are very minor and do not require any report to be sent.

However, it is advisable to check the `Notify me when critical errors occur' box.

If you are using a pirated edition of WindowsXP, do not send any error reports to Microsoft.
