Computer Usage Columns - Tip Off Increasing video RAM
I am using a system with Intel Pentium 3, other specifications being 1 Ghz, 20 GB HDD and 256 MB RAM. My operating system (OS) is Windows 98 Second Edition. My graphics adapter is Intel(r) 2810E Graphics controller. In spite of having 256 MB RAM, the video memory allocated is only 5 MB. As a result, I have graphics-related problems and most of the games do not run properly. How can I increase video memory? Please suggest a solution. Joseph Satish You can increase your video RAM by going to the BIOS setup when the system boots. You need to go to the "Integrated Peripherals" menu in the BIOS. There you should find the Video Options. In that, please look for AGP Aperture Size and increase the allocated memory to the maximum available. You will get a list of applicable memory sizes supported by your motherboard. Select as required, save, and restart the system. If you need to increase your video RAM more than what is supported by your motherboard, then you need to buy an additional add-on video card with more video memory and install it. You need to buy a video card that is supported by your motherboard.
