Internet Measuring your ego in three easy steps
Have you ever searched for your own name in a search engine? If yes, go on, you will enjoy this. If not, it doesn't matter, what we tell you will make you an inveterate ego surfer. Step 1: Go to www.egosurf.org It calculates your ego points based on the ranking of search results from three major search engines - Google, Yahoo and MSN - and two blogger-specific services - Del.icio.us and Technorati. You can choose which services you want surfed for your ego. Step 2: Enter your name and your blog or Web site address Enter your name and the associated Web site or your blog. To boost your scores, you can add a word or a phrase that describes your area of expertise. For example, if you are an expert on technology and travel, you can run one search with your name and technology and another with your name and travel. Similarly, if you want to check whether you were quoted more in newspaper A or newspaper B, you can run two searches - one with paper A's Web site address and another with paper B's. Step 3: Click "Find your place" Get the number; persuade a colleague to do it; and, start arguing. And pray that your boss doesn't get his hands on these numbers!
