Track your vehicle

The Pune-based Transworld has launched an Automated Vehicle Location system featuring a small vehicle mounted unit and software command centre. The former has a GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver and GSM (Cellular) interface with GPRS, to measure, record and transmit parameters such as date, time, speed and location to the command centre using the local GSM/GPRS network. It costs Rs 9,500 per unit. The company has also announced `Rakshak', a GSM Vehicle Immobiliser costing Rs 6,500. Using it, the owner can use his own cell-phone to remotely lock/unlock, track and trace his stolen vehicle or just immobilise it to allow the police to recover it, says Transworld.
