Are there times when you wish you were back in kindergarten again leading a carefree life? Do you think you have become a lot more serious than you should be, not taking the time out to enjoy a good laugh, let alone chuckle? Michal Rothschild and Michal Rinott have created a `laughing swing' (http://www.michalri.net/laughingswing/) just to recreate that magic for you. They have created a swing that looks normal: You sit on it, and it chuckles; start swinging and it starts laughing; swing higher and it laughs harder. And what are you doing all this while? You are laughing your head off, as you just can't help it - laughter is so infectious that you will laugh even if you are just watching someone else on the laughing swing.
The laughing swing is simply designed: There is a sensor on the swing rope that detects how high you are swinging and passes on the data to a micro-controller that controls the pitch and length of the laughter. The laughter comes from a speaker built into the swing seat. The designers have done a lot of research and auditioning for the voice and modulation of the laughter to make sure that your experience is smooth.
