Virus trouble

My PC has the following configuration: INTEL [R] Pentium[R] 4CPU, 2.66GHz, 248 MB RAM, Microsoft Windows XP Professional, Version 2002.

Recently when I was working on the Internet, the system got infected. The virus details are as follows:

Trojan Horse - 541 KB.-Virus. Affected Area: C:\ Program Files\Notify\notify.exe

Quarantined on 10/05/2006; Repair failed. I submitted it to Symantec on 2/06/2006. No reply from them so far.

Trojan Muvipaz - 124 KB - Virus. Affected area: C:\Windows\system32\agent.dll. Quarantined on 20/05/2006; Repair failed. I submitted to Symantec lab on 2/06/2006. No reply so far.

One program, `Instant Access' has entered the Add/Remove Program list. Is it genuine?

When I tried to remove this from the list, I was prompted to download from the Internet the below mentioned application "dial pass Uninstall.exe, type:application, 25.5KB, from scripts. downloadv3.com, unknown publisher.....could not be verified.

I have not taken any action, and would like your suggestion.

Another problem is that, as and when I start working with the Internet, some sites, such as http://traffic.waypointcash.com, http:// www. epass-key.com, get displayed automatically, intermittently.

Is this a problem from Instant Access?

Please suggest solutions for all these problems.

It looks like your system is infected with virus and spywares.

Please install and run anti-spyware tools such as Ad-ware and spybot, which will remove Adwares and spywares from your system. Ad-Aware SE Personal Edition 1.06 is available at this URL: http://www.download.com/

3000-2144-10045910.html (2.72MB) and Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.4 can be downloaded from this URL: http://www.download.com/

Spybot-Search-Destroy/

3000-8022_4-10401314.html (4.8 MB).

Now boot your system in Safe Mode, then run the above two anti-spyware tools and delete all the adwares and spywares. Also, please perform an Anti-virus Full-Scan in Safe mode.

Next enable the Pop-up Blocker of Internet Explorer.

To do this, please Open IE - Click Tools - Internet Options - Privacy - enable(tick) the checkbox "Block pop-ups".

This will stop displaying unwanted sites. Next, enable the "Windows Firewall". To do this, please Click Start - Settings - Control Panel - Windows Firewall. On General tab, Click the radio button "On (recommended) and click ok.

It is advisable to install Windows XP SP2.

Please follow the links for instructions to remove viruses.

You may likely delete some of the registry entries.

For Notify.exe and agent.dll problems, please follow the removal instructions.
