Computer Usage Columns - Tip Off Enabling auto logon
LOGGING IN, quick and easy. - Bijoy Ghosh
I am using Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2. I regularly update my OS. I am the administrator and there are no other users. I have not set a password to my account. I enter the system on clicking username. I want to make my account auto logon so that I need not even click on the name of my account. Please tell me how I go about it. P. Harikrishnan Please follow these steps to enable auto logon in Windows XP Professional SP2. Click Start - Run - type "Control userpasswords2" (without quotes) and click ok. This will bring up the User Accounts window. Select the user (say Administrator) you want to automatically logon and uncheck the option "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Click Apply button and type the user account password and click ok. Now restart your system and check the auto-logon functionality.
