As night falls. - Satish H.

Do you work in a sterile, air-conditioned office all day, and you are just yearning to go for a walk in the warm sunshine outside? And putting in all hours so you sometimes find it difficult to remember when you last saw a sunrise or sunset?

Maybe a digital sun would help. Check out the "Movement of the Sun" (http://jimpalt.org/sun/) for details on three related projects: 1) A computer-based animated representation of the position of the sun/time of the day outside; 2) A light bulb that represents the sun - starts dimly at dawn, grows brighter through the morning, burns brightest at mid-day and starts dimming in the afternoon; 3) The same program for the mobile phone. So you can at least see what's happening in the world outside.

Talking about the world outside, if you are a commuter in the non-peak hours, you probably spend quite a bit of time just staring out the train or bus window. And you start noticing patterns - in the lights, in the clouds, or in the shadows. Well, one guy discovered animals in the London Underground. For more details visit http://www.animalsontheunderground.com/ and click on the `animals' link.

Now, let's cross our fingers and hope that something like the "movement of the sun" is not going to be the lighting system at work, and that our bosses don't want us to work at odd times so we can see patterns in our spreadsheets!
