Doubling up as clock - cum - calendar - BIJOY GHOSH

If, on some days, your schedule is so packed you don't even have the time to look at your schedule, rest easy: there is some work going on that will make your life easier.

No, no one is trying to put in more hours per day or more minutes per hour or something corny like that. And no, no one is trying to design a time management course that actually works. And no, no one is trying to write another schedule or calendar program.

Ambient, a company specialising in ambient devices, is working on the development of the Ambient Clock (http://ambientclock.com) and is asking for help in refining the product design.

So what is special about this clock? Even if you are so busy that you don't have the time to look at your schedule, you'd surely glance at your clock to see the time, right? Well, this clock has your calendar.

The clock looks like an ordinary analog clock with the hours marked on the face and with the minute and hour hands. The similarity ends there: The background colour changes to indicate free time, time left for a pending meeting and the time you are in a meeting; a black marker between hours indicates the meetings and times; and black dots leading to a meeting time indicate the driving time to the meeting. You just have to schedule your appointments using Google Calendar and synchronise it with the clock.

Why don't you just put trying out the Ambient Clock on your schedule now? And don't you forget to follow up on it!
