Computer Usage Columns - Tip Off Synchronising folders
I run a small office home office with four computers. We normally handle data in excel and word formats. For backup purpose, we manually copy the important data (excel files) in one backup directory of two systems. Can you suggest any freeware tools that will keep updated files in both machines without manual copying? S. Jayaraman The following are some free synchronising programs. They search for the latest versions of your files in the specified folders, and copy the modified file to the counterpart folder, in effect they synchronise your folders. SyncBack 3.2.14 SyncBack 3.2.14.0 (Size 1.74 MB) is a Freeware tool. It is used to backup and synchronise files and directories, whether they are on a local hard drive, rewritable CDs and DVDs, a network drive, an FTP server, a ZIP archive, or on removable media (e-g pen drive). It is easy to use. It also includes more options for power users. It contains extensive help files. You can download SyncBack from the following URL: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/Back-Up-and-Recovery/SyncBack.shtml Allway Sync 5.5.8 Allway Sync 5.5.8 (Size 2.25 MB) is also easy to use. You only need to specify the local or network folders (directories) to be synchronised. The program takes care of the rest.Allway Sync 5.5.8 can be downloaded from this URL: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/ File-Management/Allway-Sync.shtml
