Computer Usage Columns - Tip Off Setting `details' view
I'm using Windows XP operating system. If I open any folder in my system, by default all the folders' contents are shown in tile option. Since I'm using more folders in date format it is difficult to scroll down to the end. I would like to change this tile option to details view for all the folders permanently. Please suggest a solution. J. Jayashankar If you would like to see files and folders in "Details" view permanently, please follow these steps: First you need to set the view option to "Details" and then make this setting permanent. To do this, please open Windows Explorer (right click "My computer" and click Explore). Click "view" menu and click "Details". Now all your files and folders will appear in Details view. Next you need to make this setting permanent. To do this, on the windows Explorer screen, please click "Tools" - Folder Options - Select "View" tab - Under "Advanced settings:" uncheck the setting "Remember each folder's view settings" and click Apply button. Then under Folder views click "Apply to All Folders" button (In Windows 2000 this is shown as "Like Current Folder" button). This will prompt you that the new settings will apply the next time you start Windows Explorer. "Set all the folders on your computer to match the current folder's view settings (except for toolbars and folder tasks)? Changes will occur the next time you open them. select Yes or No. " Click Yes button. This will bring all your files and folders view to details view permanently. But if you would like to revert, please select view tab - under "Folder views" and click the "Reset All Folders" button.
