Continuous recording

I am using a second-hand computer with the following configuration: Pentium 111 processor, 256 MB RAM, 40x CD ROM, with multimedia. If I use sound recorder of Windows 2000, I`m able to record only 60 seconds of my voice. Is there any way to record my voice continuously? Also, can I use my TV as computer monitor?

V. Rohit Verma

The Windows sound recorder supports only 60 seconds of recording by default. If you would like to record more than 60 seconds efficiently, you may need to use some third part sound recorder applications. The following are some freeware sound recorder applications.

Mp3 My Mp3 Recorder 2 (Size 5.78 MB)

It supports record streaming audio from the Internet, Mic (Modem), Mix-Record, CD, Line In or any other source, works directly with your system sound card. You can save the output to mp3 or wav format. Please use the scan tool to list all mp3 and wav, aif, swa, or sun au audio files on your entire computer. You can play and record portions of any of these files. Mp3 My Mp3 Recorder offers customisable colours, timer, on top mode, and skinning. This supports Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003 Server. This can be downloaded from http://www.download.com/

Audio Recorder for Free 5.6 (Size 1.72 MB)

This lets you record any sound from your sound card and save the recording directly to MP3, WMA, or WAV files. It supports input from a microphone, streaming audio from the Internet, and audio from external input devices (CDs, LPs, audio cassettes, phone lines), as well as audio from other applications, such as Winamp and Media Player. If you want to use TV instead of monitor you will need to install the Display(AGP) Card with TV-Out function inside your computer.
