Identifying unknown devices

My computer is loaded with Windows XP as the operating system. I would like to back up my system drivers. But three of my drivers show a yellow question mark under `unknown devices.' How do I proceed to take the back-up? Please suggest a solution.

Freeware tools are available on the Internet to identify unknown devices that are not recognised by Windows. In Device Manager, you may see some entries with yellow question mark under unknown devices.

To access these devices, you will need to install the correct drivers that are bundled with your hardware or download the appropriate drivers from the device manufacture's Web site. The utilities cited below provide information about unknown hardware, such as Device vendor, OEM name, device type, etc, and option to find driver for the selected device on the Internet.

Unknown Device Identifier 5.02: (size 843 KB). This identifies USB 1.1/2.0 Device, IEEE 1394 Device, ISA Plug & Play Device, AGP Bus Device and PCI Device etc. It can be downloaded from http://www.zhangduo.com/ UnknownDeviceIdentifier.exe Unknown Devices 1.4.20 Beta (size 630 KB).

Please download from http:// www.halfdone.com/ukd/UKD_14- 20_Beta.zip

If you are still unable to find drivers, then you may take back-up of existing drivers using Drivemax utility.
