Improving typing speed

I'm poor at keyboard typing. Could you suggest good typing software to improve typing speed?

INDRAJEET S

There is a lot of typing tutor software available on the Internet, which helps one to test one's speed and typing skills, practise, and improve these. Here is some freeware typing software:

MaxType LITE: (Size 2.3 MB)

This is a multifunctional typing tutor for Windows 95/98/ME/2000/XP/2003. This program allows you to test and practise your typing skills with any *.txt file. It supports "Qwerty", "Dvorak", "Azerty" and Russian keyboard layouts. Two typing modes are available. Typing Test Mode and Extreme Typing Mode.

Beginners can start with Typing Test Mode, which allows you to practise and test your typing skills with any file from the builtin library.

This clearly shows which finger to use for which letter and number.

Please take a look at the help file before you start using MaxType LITE. This can be downloaded from http://www.tucows.com/ preview/376772

Kid's Typing Skills: (Size 2.17MB)

This program will help you learn some of the skills required for keyboarding, or typing (as it was called when typewriters were in vogue).

You have several choices: Learn Keyboard, Keyboard Practice, Character Drills, Word Drills, Timed Drills, Help, or Exit. This is a good starting point for beginners who do not know much about typing. You can download this from http://www.kidwaresoftware.com/ kidtype.htm

Bruce's Unusual Typing Wizard 1.5: (Size 568 KB)
