New Products & Services Beat of innovation
HD Medical Services (India) Private Ltd, the wholly-owned subsidiary of HD Medical Group (HDMG) of Australia, has launched ViScope, an audio-visual cardiac screening device that enables doctors to visualise heart sounds while also hearing them. The Indian arm of the company has entered into a two-year distribution agreement with the healthcare business group of BPL. It has also signed an agreement with Mysore-based Vinyas Innovative Technologies Private Ltd to manufacture ViScope on contract basis. The Chief Technology Office of HDMG, Damon Coffman, says the product, priced at Rs 30,000, will bring down the need for tests such as ECG and echo. It will help patients get the diagnosis done at one-tenth of the cost compared with conventional methods, he says. The company is in talks with the Union Ministry of Health to promote ViScope through telemedicine for public health centres, according to the Managing Director of HDMG, Jay Jethwa.
