Going down, down, down!

As a business journalist, one gets to enjoy peaceful weekends. But these past couple of weeks, with the Wall Street crisis and the big bailout, the team has been monitoring the news on television and the Internet. But just the news wasn't enough for something like this; we wanted opinion, and analysis, and what better source than blogs?

The best blogs are opinionated and, more often than not, a little biased; they are so interesting that you will get hooked and need a periodical fix.

Typically, if you are interested in a subject or topic, you'd have a set of blogs that you'd visit for your daily fix.

Say you are interested in gadgets; your sources would be Engadget, Gizmodo, cnet reviews, Register Hardware, and GSM Arena.

And sometimes you want to know when a particular argument or trend broke out.

For instance, do you know that in the overall blog world, the Apple iPhone and 3G technology go hand in hand, almost as if there was no 3G tech without the iPhone? How do you track things like this?

Well, you go to Nielsen BuzzMetrics' BlogPulse (http://www.blogpulse.com). Check out their trend search and conversation tracker.

Oh, and about the Wall Street crisis, go to the trend search and enter "Wall Street" and "greed" as the trend search terms. Too close for comfort?
