Acess through mail. Paromita Pain Slow Internet connections needn’t be a problem any more if Rediff.com India Ltd is to be believed. Its new ‘Web-in-mail’ service is a way to access the Internet in your mail. “Web-in-mail will let people with restricted Internet access Internet content,” says Venki Nishtala, CTO, Rediff.com. This works on e-mail clients such as MS Outlook, Outlook Express and Thunderbird as well. It works in two steps: Sending an e-mail to browse@webinmail.com with the URL (Internet address) of the Web page which the user wants to access in the subject line. A prompt reply is received with the Web page in the user’s inbox. Clicking a hyperlink within the Web page received automatically composes another mail. On sending this mail another reply mail is received with a new Web page. This service, in its beta version, also allows users to search the Internet. Users need to send their search query in the subject line and result mail is received via e-mail.
