Our question derives from the study abstracted in this week’s tip. How important is putting in long hours at work — being physically seen coming in early and leaving late — to how you are evaluated at work? Do evaluation systems objectively measure output, or are they simply driven by perceptions? In other words, how important is it to convince your boss that you are working hard — regardless of what you are actually achieving?
