Neetu Bhatia, Co-founder and CEO, KyaZoonga
Founded in 2007, KyaZoonga has now become synonymous with online ticketing and sports merchandise, especially after the Cricket World Cup in 2011. With around 40 people on board, the Web site manages to sell thousands of event tickets across various locations every day. Weekend Life caught up with Neetu Bhatia, Co-founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, KyaZoonga, to know more about her tech tales.
How tech-savvy are you?
I am one of the early adopters from a tech perspective. I am an engineer by training. I am primarily the person that drives product technology as well across the board (in KyaZoonga). I do not write the code, but what needs to be done to solve business problem with technology, I am able to manage that.
What gadget/s do you use?
I use all the latest gadgets. I was thinking should have waited for iPhone (using iPhone 4 currently). I try and stay on top of everything. It’s the utility of the gadget that is most important to me. I was a BlackBerry user for 15 years, one of the first users in the US, and switched on to iPhone very recently. This switch has been seamless and I am happy with it.
What is your latest gadget possession?
My latest acquisition was a Bose home theatre system. The other one is Bang & Olufsen speaker which works on Wi-fi. It is one of my favourite companies.
Which is your dream machine that you would like to own day?
My dream car is a Lamborghini. But, let’s see when I get that because it is tough to drive the car you want on Indian roads. What’s the point of driving such cars at 5 miles an hour?
What do you not like about technology?
Sometimes technology can try to over solve a business problem. Other than that I do not see anything which I dislike about technology.
What apps or tools do you use personally?
I was a devoted BlackBerry user for 15 years. To me it is the utilitarian value of the gadget that matters. What is technology doing to solve the problem for me -- whether it is a business or personal problem – my entire calendar is organised, my contacts and to be as productive as possible.
