What's the most successful tech according to you?

Computing and communications coming together on mobile devices has fundamentally expanded the industry opened up horizons for kids.

What's the biggest tech disaster according to you?

The array of memory cards and video tapes of various sizes sitting at home have become a mess. Anything proprietary and not in volume platforms inevitably becomes problematic.

What gadgets do you use?

Laptop is the goto device with the Android smartphone keeping me up to date as I move around the day. I also use an Android tab, iPad and two Windows based tablets for browsing at home, a GPS Navigation device when travelling abroad.

 Which are the latest gadgets you picked up?

Besides the android tabs and iPad, I have been playing with this wide screen Windows 8 tab. .

 What is your dream machine?

A foldable touch based family computer which I can layout in the living room or dining table to play with kids, fold and take in car with all the sensors etc -  While that is being built, I am eyeing a nice big screen touch based All in one for the family room.

 What do you not like about technology?

My discipline with vacations is not that great with all the connected devices and dongles.

One instance where technology solved your problem?

About a decade ago, I was stranded in a small town in Rajasthan. With my laptop connected to a CDMA phone, I was able catch up on work while enjoying my breakfast of hot jalebis and kachori, – it brought home the point that with connectivity Geography had truly become history!

 What apps are you addicted to?

WhatsApp, games (Angry Birds, Temple Run, Subway Surfer), Viber, news apps and this cool sound meter (was fun to measure decibel level during Diwali and occasionally in meetings).
