A stakeholder awareness and education seminar on agri-business and commodity markets to discuss scientific management of price risks in the volatile agricultural markets will be held in Mysore at 5 p.m. on Friday at Hotel Pai Vista here.
The event is part of an ongoing series organised by Business Line jointly with the Forward Markets Commission, the commodities futures market regulator, and the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), the country’s largest agricultural futures bourse.
P.S. Vastrad, Deputy Commissioner, Mysore, will be the chief guest. The guests of honour include Sudhakar S. Shetty, President, Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and K. Shiva Shanmugam, President, Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
A presentation on ‘Commodities as Critical Driver of India’s Economic Growth’ will be made by G. Chandrashekhar of Business Line; and on ‘Commodity Futures Trading for Price Discovery and Price Risk Management’ by V.B. Prem Kumar, Vice-President, NCDEX. K. Lakshmisha, General Manager, State Bank of Mysore, will speak on the role of banks in promoting commodity markets.
