Physical rubber prices were mixed on Wednesday. The undercurrent was weak as selected counters lost marginally on buyer resistance. Prices were under pressure also following profit booking at higher levels, expecting a technical correction during the weekend sessions.

Sheet rubber declined to Rs 193 (195) a kg according to traders and the Rubber Board. The National Multi Commodity Exchange remained closed owing to Ganesh Chaturthi.

RSS 3 (spot) improved to Rs 173.08 (172.63) a kg at Bangkok. The September futures increased to ¥242 (Rs 165.57) from ¥239.3 a kg during the day session but then remained inactive in the night session on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange.

The spot rates were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 193 (195); RSS-5: 186 (186); ungraded: 181 (181); ISNR 20: 177.50 (178) and latex 60 per cent: 130 (130).
