The distinct advantages of Palakkad, which is touted as the industrial district of Kerala, will be showcased at an event styled ‘Indexpo Kerala' from November 24-27.

Jointly organised by Palakkad Management Association and Kanjikode Industries Forum, it is also aimed at urging the State Government to declare Palakkad, which is home to many large, medium and small industries, as the ‘industrial capital of Kerala.'

The organisers point out that the district boasts a slew of central and State Government entities like BEML, Railway Coach Factory, Malabar Cements, ITI, Instrumentation Ltd and Fluid Control Research Institute and private sector companies like Patspin, Precot, Marico, Pepsi and United breweries. The event is to highlight the fact that it had the potential to offer much more, they said. Besides, it is strategically located and well connected to Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Indexpo will also offer a window for B2B and B2C activity for industrial exhibitors and industrial visitors from Palakkad and other districts of Kerala and from other States. It will also lay stress on improving the industrialisation in the agro and food processing sectors, thereby helping the farmers in the district get better value for their efforts.

The exhibits profile will include machine tools and accessories, hydraulics and pneumatics, material handling equipment and machinery, pumps and fittings, instrumentation and automation and industrial components.

These apart, there will be exhibitors of industrial electrical and electronics, telecom equipment and service and IT consulting and service.
