Vikram Solar commissions power plants

Kolkata-based solar EPC (engineering, procurement and construction services) company Vikram Solar Ltd has commissioned a 5MW power plant in Gujarat and 1MW project in Rourkela in Orissa. The project in Gujarat is sponsored by Konark Gujarat Ltd while that in Orissa is sponsored by Molisati Vinimay Ltd. Both these projects have been built under the policy guidance from Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency, said a company statement. Vikram Solar has an annual power production capacity of 100 MW. The company plans to foray into the cell manufacturing business by the end of 2012 with a production capacity of 100 MW, the release said.
