Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy said on Saturday that he was in favour of foreign direct investment in the retail sector as it would help farmers. Reddy said this at a convention of farmers in the Horticulture University at Venkataramannagudem in West Godavari district.
“The farmers will definitely stand to gain if FDI in the retail sector is allowed. Many cold storages and go-downs will be established for preservation of perishable agricultural produce and better marketing facilities would fetch better prices for farmers. Keeping in view these advantages, I have conveyed my consent in a letter to the Prime Minister. Many other states are opposing the proposal, but I have no problem with it,” he said.

This Guy is a puppet trying to fool public. Gos save Andhra and Telugu people.
Yes, according to CM andhra, it will benefit both the farmer as well as
consumer. For the foreign investor, government will offer free
accommodation for storage, free electricity for the cold storage, charge
free bank transactions, free fuel for transport and as incentive, there
will be no sales tax, no service tax and no income tax which are not
available for locals. India will be tax heaven for the foreign
investors and those who bring back their black money stashed in foreign
shores.
When many CMs are opposing,Statement Government of AP must study the FDI in to retail in detail and ake stand, to safe guard the interests of the people especially farmers, who are working hard for production.
Better State Governmet support DWACRA type Group of Women to run retails stores by providing direct money credit to their bank accounts to use the amount for rent on cold storages. Also Government can support money sending directly to the farmers accounts for fertilizers and pesticides so that they would not depend on money lenders, who are making much profits
If at all allowing in the FDI with retail clear cut guidelines on case to case to basis to be allowed and to keep in the critisam coming for earlier state government projects EMAR and VANPICK etc. There should be mechanism to back test whether the MNC which is coming in to retail is following the guidelines or not, then only it would help
