State Bank of Travancore (SBT), an associate of State Bank of India, is planning to focus on enhancing its exposure in retail and micro, small and medium enterprises sectors.

To facilitate this, the bank has already set up loan processing centres in nine places across the country. In addition, it plans to open 46 branches in the next three months, taking its total to 1,000 by the end of the current financial year. “And, majority of them (24) will be outside Kerala,” said P. Nanda Kumaran, Managing Director of the Kerala-headquartered bank.

The bank is also in the process of setting up its regional offices in various cities such as Hyderabad and Madurai; and a zonal office in Bangalore.
