The Haryana government on Wednesday announced increase in minimum wages of unskilled workers to Rs 186 a day and that of highly skilled to Rs 211.42 a day. The decision to increase the minimum wages would benefit about 7.5 lakh labourers working in about 11,500 small and big factories, the Chief Minister, Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda, said.
Unskilled labourers would now get minimum wage of Rs 4,847.17 a month or Rs 186.42 per day, semi-skilled (A) Rs 4,977.17 a month and Rs 191.42 per day, semi-skilled (B) Rs 5,107.17 per month and Rs 196.42 per day. Skilled labourers (A) would et minimum wage of Rs 5,237.17 a month and Rs 201.42 a day and skilled (B) would get Rs 5,367.17 a month and Rs 206.42 per day. The highly skilled worker would get minimum wage of Rs 5,497.17 a month and Rs 211.42/day.
