He said that this year 650,000 engineers graduated in India, contributing to a large talent pool. Mr Mittal was delivering the keynote address on ‘Opportunities in the Changing IT landscape — Vision 2020’ at the Advantage AP, 2012, IT summit.

Mr Mittal said leading IT companies registered a growth of 7 per cent in fiscal 2011-12 and the revenue per client for top companies went up by 18 per cent since FY2010.

He said 58 per cent of the workforce was from Tier II/III cities, with 31 per cent of the workforce being women. Nearly 60 per cent of the companies in the sector provided employment to differently-abled people, he said.
