Technology business incubator (TBI) at Technopark here has won best incubator international award from Asian Association of Business Incubation. The award has been instituted to promote development of incubators and recognise overall excellence.

K. C. Chandrasekharan Nair, managing director, Technopark TBI, received the award on Thursday at an international conference held at Seoul.

The only previous winner from India has been the agri-business incubator International Crop Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics in Hyderabad.

Chandrasekharan Nair said that Technopark TBI has created an ecosystem to promote the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship. It has incubated more than 165 start-ups over the past nine years with a success rate of over 96 per cent.

It is the nodal TBI authorised to guide other TBIs and student entrepreneurs as part of a State Government drive to promote spirit of entrepreneurship at a young age.
