The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and Microsoft ThinkNext will hold the next edition of Start-up SmashUP on February 17.
Early stage start-ups will get an opportunity to present their project ideas, talk to the entrepreneurs and mentors to take the ideas to the next level. Some of them, who have made a headway in setting up the ventures, can also pitch for investments from angel investors.
Executives of incubation centres and venture capital funds and successful entrepreneurs too will attend the day-long event to pick some workable projects.
“We invite entrepreneurs who are looking for mentors and funding support to apply for the event. They can do so by visiting https://hyderabad.tie.org/event/23/tie-smashup-association-microsoft-thinknext,”a TiE official said here on Friday.
“We will short-list 10 start-ups that will get an opportunity to showcase their projects to the investor community, mentors and the audience. The screening and short-listing of these start-ups will be done by the volunteers of Hyderabad Angels and TiE Incubator Investment Committee,” he said.
A ‘Power Breakfast’ will be hosted with limited seats that helps the young entrepreneurs to interact with industry leaders and investors.
Start-up Boot Camp
The event also includes a ‘Boot Camp’ where industry leaders will talk on the art and science of running a start-up from the experts and investors.
“The discussion will range from the art of pitching, to sources of seed funding to evolving early stage go-to-market and the way ahead,” he said.
There will be a panel discussion which would have Mukund Mohan, serial entrepreneur and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Microsoft Accelerator, and Vasudeva Varma, CEO of IIIT-H Foundation (incubator).
