Alwaye Development Area Industrial Association (ADAIA) has requested the State Government to include the Vallarpadam Container Terminal and allied services under necessary services.

P.M. Musthafa, president, ADAIA, told reporters here that the government should take steps to end the ongoing strike at the terminal, which has entered the 11th day.

As numerous small-scale industries depend on the terminal for export and import of goods, the losses incurred because of the strike were huge, he said. The association pointed out that this was the second time the trailer crew resorted to strike demanding wage hike and other facilities.
