Ms Saundarya Rajesh, Founder-President, Avtar Career Creators has won the TiE Stree Shakthi Awards 2011 announced on September 30 at the TiE Stree Shakti Conference held in Mumbai.
Attracting over 200 entries and 350 participants, the TiE Stree Shakti conference is a movement that aims to connect, enable, inspire and celebrate women entrepreneurs in India.
Ms Rajesh, who has founded the Chennai-based Avtar Career Creators and Flexi Careers India, has been adjudged a winner of the TiE Stree Shakti award for excellence in entrepreneurship, says a press release from Avtar.
The contest which involved six stages of elimination, includes a Rs 1 lakh cash prize and a certificate of appreciation. This award comes at a time, when the Avtar I-Win service from the group – a service which focuses on flexi-career creation - has been formally incorporated as Flexi Careers India.
Flexi Careers India was founded in April 2011 on the premise that there is a huge pool of untapped talent among qualified women professionals who have left the traditional workforce because they could not find the balance they needed to manage career with life and family. According to a study by Flexi, over the past two decades, over 13 lakh women professionals have quit the Indian workplace simply because they did not find careers sustainable. It is this pool that Flexi is working with.
