New Delhi, Feb 7:
Power Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia would hold discussions with banks and financial institutions on Friday to discuss the power sector woes.
“I will hear them (financial institutions) out in terms of what their issues are to increase their exposure to the sector,’’ Scindia told mediapersons.
“Backing and input of the financial institutions is very important, it is an open forum,’’ he said.
He also said that the Government will take their inputs and work on their recommendations.

Comments:
It is a welcome move from the Govt. side. But subsequent to this hearing
Govt.must resolve the impediments the Power Sector is facing. It is too
long a waiting for the sector to take off.Similar way Govt must take
some quick initiative to resolve the coal linkage issues.Any delay to
adress Power Sector issues may result in further reduction of growth
from 5%.
