Sets up R&D centre in Bengaluru and to showcase smart building solutions
75F, a company that provides automation technologies to commercial buildings has launched its India operations.
The Minneapolis headquartered company, which is founded by Indians- Deepinder Singh and Pankaj Chawla has set up an Research and Development centre in Bengaluru and also has plans to sell its solutions to Indian consumers.
"India is a very lucrative market as it has 499 million square feet of commercial buildings space," said Gaurav Burman, VP & Country President of 75F. The company's technology is based on sensors that emit information through the Internet, which gives a building manager a real time look at energy consumption patterns and reduce energy usage.
While a large chunk of its revenues come from the US market, the R&D team is tailoring some solutions specifically for the Indian market, Chawla said. Industry watchers estimate this market to be Rs 3,500 crore, which is growing as a lot of new commercial buildings are coming with in-built sensors.
According to Burman, the company also sees opportunities in existing buildings where its solutions can be retrofitted.
