Children are quick to grasp things and can be as creative as elders. But their creative spirit often disappears if they grow up without encouragement and sustained appreciation.
Here’s a start-up that has created an e-commerce market place to help kids and parents showcase children’s creative work. “We are aiming to develop a platform to discover talents in children. They can display their products to earn money or to simply showcase their work to seek appreciation from viewers,” Jai Eapen, founder of BriteCamp, told BusinessLine .
“The e-market place is open for children interested in arts and crafts across the world. They can also get their family, relatives and friends to ‘like’ and comment on their work. Friends and relatives will go for emotional buying to encourage the kids,” he said.
“The children will be allowed to price their work. But the buyers can offer more to encourage the artists. The site allows the members to build points that can be monetised to buy things on the site,” he said.
The start-up will give away 50 per cent of sale proceeds to charities working for the welfare of children. While the child gets 30 per cent, the remaining 20 per cent will go to the start-up to meet operational costs.
“By giving part of their earnings to a charity, the children will learn the virtue of giving and sharing with the needy,” Eapen said.
The start-up is in talks with schools to popularise the idea among children. It has tied up with a payment firm to facilitate financial transactions on the site.
