Dassault Systems, the European multinational software major, will set up a 3D Experience Centre in Andhra Pradesh. It will impart training to students and make them industry-ready in aerospace & defence, automotive and shipbuilding areas.

MoU with APSSDC

The France headquartered company and the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) have signed a memorandum of understanding. A 3D Experience platform with built in industry solutions experience will be the latest facility. As per industry reports, the aerospace and defence industry in India is one of the fastest growing markets in the world with a significant push to indigenous manufacturing. Promoting self-reliance, indigenisation and technology upgrades, achieving economies of scale and developing capabilities for exports require that the talent to be developed in-house at a rapid pace to meet the demand.

Similarly, the automotive industry is growing and seeing changes like electric vehicles (EVs), shared mobility, emission and safety norms promising a potential to create 65 million additional jobs and contributing over 12 per cent to the country’s GDP.

The 3D Experience Centre aims to meet these requirements for skilled manpower and facilitate employability to the youth in the state. It will enhance the employability skills of the engineering and polytechnic students by making them industry-ready, says a press release.

Simulation facility

As part of experiential learning, the Centre will be made available to the students either on campus or on cloud so that they have first-hand knowledge of operating on the platform. It will provide simulation and tele-operated learning facility, where needed, and to facilitate remote learning as well. The centre will also act as an innovation hub for incubating start-ups and promoting start-up culture in Andhra Pradesh.

The MD & CEO of APSSDC, K Sambasiva Rao, said “we will offer 85 courses in aerospace & defence, automotive technologies and marine infrastructure”.

Samson Khaou, MD India of Dassault Systems, said the centre has been set up as a step to foster innovation and help instill the start-up and research culture in the State as well and act as a catalyst of growth.
