Swedish IT applications company Hexagon is planning to add about 200 to its research and development centre here. The firm, which acquired Intergraph five years ago for $2.13 billion, has about one-third of the 3,000 employees working in R&D globally.
The firm has consolidated four of its India offices located in Hyderabad into one facility at Madhapur here. “The Centre has a capacity to seat 1,200 people. We are planning to expand the numbers at a rate of 20 per cent,” Steven Cost, President of Hexagon Safety and Infrastructure, said.
He was here in connection with the launch of the Hexagon Capability Centre India here.
Addressing a press conference here to announce the consolidated facility, Hexagon Vice-President and Country Manager (India) Navaneet Mishra said the company was looking at sales opportunities in India. For one, the firm has got the mandate to provide solutions for Madhya Pradesh governments Dial 100 project.
The firm has a sales force of 250 in the country.
