HP and Intel have launched a centre that will help demonstrate high performance computing (HPC)-as-a-sevice. This centre has been set up as an effort to help research institutions to test their applications on HPC platform. HPC is used in areas like weather modelling patterns or for GPS like services.
At the HP-Intel centre, customers can access the latest technologies and they can use it with their existing platforms, said Vikram K, director, servers, HPE India.
In fact they can come and validate their applications on HP and Intel's portfolio, added Ravi Gupta, Regional Manager, SAARC, HPE Alliance, Intel.
Both companies are hopeful that their technologies will play a key role in the Indian government's proposed National Supercomputing Mission.
