Integra Software Services Pvt, a leading e-publishing solutions provider, has opened its Centre of Excellence for its digital solutions delivery in Chennai.

The move marks the Puducherry-based firm’s expansion into product development business that was driven by shifting trend towards digital solutions in the publishing space. It seeks to focus more on the digital publishing and eLearning needs of the education and corporate (learning & development) markets. The company is creating a separate products division to spur growth.

The new centre, located at Thoraipakkam in Chennai, was inaugurated by Craig Alexander, SVP of Production & Digital Studio for Global Product and Michael Esposito, VP - Content Sourcing & Vendor Management of Pearson Education, a popular name in the global education publishing space.

“We have been predominantly a service-based company. Now, we aim to transform into a product-based company. We want to grow up in the value chain as the industry is going through a lot of transformation – from print books to digital books. Publishers have no clue on the emerging digital landscape. We think we are in the right position to offer solutions,” Sriram Subramanya, Founder and CEO of Integra, said here.

The centre comprises a content innovation lab that will focus on developing digital platforms, products for publishers and educational institutions. It will develop products both for organisations as also the mass market. Currently, it employs 100 people and the company has chalked out aggressive plans to increase the headcount to 1,000 over the next 2-3 years in view of favourable growth outlook.

The company already employs about 1,000 in Puducherry facility which has been focusing on providing content solutions for publishers.

‘Over the past two years, we have invested about $2 million in development of products and platforms. Many products are getting ready. This year itself, we will launch 2-3 products and lot more are in various stages of development,” he added

The first e-learning product the company planning to launch is Human Anatomy, an app targeted at educational segment. It is meant for school students in grade 7 plus categories. It has done a pilot launch already and will formally launch soon. This product comes in the B2C segment.

In B2B segment, the company is working on products and platforms that are aimed at filling gaps in the publishing market.

The company ended 2015-16 with revenues of $15 million and aims to achieve $20 million for this fiscal.
