IT veteran Karan Bajwa, who was the Managing Director of Microsoft, is set to join IBM.
Bajwa tweeted that he is a reborn IBMer.
He was in charge of sales and marketing operations of Microsoft.
Bajwa, it is learnt, would be the second in command reporting to Vanitha Narayanan, IBM India Managing Director. According to Sanchit Gogia, analyst at Greyhound Research, Bajwa had spearheaded Microsoft's Azure and Office 365 business in india and with him on board IBM will take Microsoft head on in India. IBM which has been lagging in India in terms of transformational deals is hoping that Bajwa will kick start such deals, Gogia added.
Earlier, Bajwa had a stint with IBM and was based out of Singapore.
