Location and navigation technology solutions provider, MapmyIndia, will soon be entering into two-wheeler navigation segment.
“We have already tied up with a major automotive industry player in the two-wheeler segment to provide software and maps for two-wheelers. They will announce details soon,’’ Rakesh Verma, Managing Director, MapmyIndia, told newspersons.
The company has also launched ‘MapmyIndia Map Engine’ a solution designed to geo-enable applications and solutions. The engine is powered with map data content in the form of map tiles and ready-to-use geospatial functionalities.
The Map Engine is universally compatible with all commonly used software and ERP systems/platforms, thus allowing for speedier deployment and faster turnaround time.
MapmyIndia will also soon roll out an alternative to Google Maps that are being used by the consumers. “We believe quality of our maps are better than those of Google. So far we have been targeting corporate and government clients but this will change with launch of alternative to Google Maps,’’ Verma said.
MapmyIndia now earns a revenue of ₹150-200 crore with 30 per cent growth in topline and bottomline in recent years, he added.
