Netmagic Solutions, a company that manages IT infrastructure for companies, is eyeing revenue growth of 30-40 per cent on the back of strong demand coming from e-commerce companies and start-ups.

The Mumbai-based company, which is now majority owned by Japanese tech major NTT Communications, believes that demand is coming from Indian as well as multinational companies as social media and increasing mobile phone usage are generating huge demand. “Our launch of a 100,000 sq ft data centre in Bengaluru is testimony to the kind of demand and growth that we expect this year,” Sunil Gupta, Executive Director and President, Netmagic Solutions, told BusinessLine .

As the company is privately held, it does not disclose annual revenues in number terms but said that it has been growing at a similar pace over the last few years. The company also believes that with e-commerce gaining ground and Bengaluru being the hub for a large number of such companies, increased demand coming from ventures. “The concentration of e-commerce companies and start-ups is large in number and we expect them to use our facility to host their IT infrastructure,” he said.

Companies like Netmagic provide the real estate, connectivity facilities and IT systems so that a company use whatever is needed on a subscription basis.

More data centre space

The company counts 15 out of top 20 broking firms and when its Mumbai data centre gets completed, it will have 8 lakh sqft of data centre space with an investment of ₹700 crore. The company, however, does not give out details of its other facilities.

Analysts say that setting up data centres is not viable due to the fact that charges related to cable landing systems is high and is dominated by two players which together own over 80 per cent share.
