Technology company Brocade, which makes data and storage networking equipment, is expects to add 150 new clients this year on the back of larger adoption of its technology amongst e-commerce companies and other corporates.

Talking to BusinessLine, Adam Judd, Vice-President, APAC, Brocade Communications Systems, said that in the last quarter, the company added 32 clients and expects the pace to pick up going forward.

“India is going be our fastest growing market this year, we are expected to grow four times the market growth rate of networking in the next 12 months,” said Judd. The company, currently has around 500 customers in India. Research firm IDC expects the market for networking equipment to grow 20 per cent this year, similar to 2014 and is currently dominated by Cisco, which has more than 60 per cent of the overall marketshare.

Competitors like Brocade are now starting to make inroads. The company won deals from Videocon, Micromax, Polaris Financial Technology, Reliance BIG Animation and Omega Healthcare in the last 18-24 months.

According to Suman Bisht, Market Analyst, Enterprise Networking and UC&C, IDC India, solutions such as Bring Your Own Devices (BYOD), surveillance IoT and other technologies are making inroads and have started contributing towards incremental revenues.

Technology companies like Brocade have their products powering data centres, which are seeing a rise in usage, in direct proportion to increased tech usage.

However, this increased use is also contributing to rising complexity as technologies do not talk to each other and come with costly upgrade cycles.

“Companies are tired of buying locked in proprietary solutions for their infrastructure, want to embrace open standards and that has resulted in widespread adoption of our solutions,” opines Judd.
